॥ Rishta Guide ॥

From biodata to the wedding

Nine stages of a rishta, what to do at each one, and the tools on this site that help. Nothing to fill in, just read.

  1. Stage 1 / 9

    Get ready

A clear biodata is the first impression a family gets.

    • Fill the biodata fully: education, work, parents' names and work, brothers and sisters.
    • Ask elders for your gotra, nanihal gotra, avatank and native place.
    • Add a clear, recent photo and the birth time for kundli milan.
  2. Stage 2 / 9

    Search

Look widely first, then narrow down.

    • Use filters for age, city and education, but keep them a little wide at first.
    • Check "Picked for you today" every morning.
    • Save profiles you like and ask relatives' opinion with the family link.
  3. Stage 3 / 9

    First checks

Before the first call, three quiet checks.

    • Gotra: the site shows on every profile whether the gotras clash.
    • Kundli: see the guna milan, and show the report to your pandit ji.
    • Family: ask relatives you trust about the other family.
  4. Stage 4 / 9

    Interest and the first talk

    A short, warm first step.

    • Send an interest with a short, polite note.
    • When both accept, numbers open: the parents usually speak first.
    • Talk about what matters: city after marriage, joint family, work, expectations.
  5. Stage 5 / 9

    First meeting

Meet as families, in a comfortable place.

    • Choose a public place or a relative's home, and go with family.
    • Propose the date from the chat; the site suggests shubh times for your city.
    • Give the young people some time to talk on their own.
  6. Stage 6 / 9

    Rishta pakka

When both families are at ease, say yes together.

    • Let the elders of both sides meet and agree.
    • Talk openly about the scale of the wedding, the city and the timing.
    • Mark the profile "Rishta fixed": it hides from search and opens the Badhai page.
  7. Stage 7 / 9

    Sagai and muhurat

The pandit sees both kundlis and gives the dates.

    • Hold the sagai: tilak, shagun and the blessings of elders.
    • See the auspicious vivah dates and fix the muhurat with your pandit.
  8. Stage 8 / 9

    Wedding preparation

Plan early, with a name against each task.

    • Use the Badhai checklist from sagai to the wedding week, and keep the wedding budget on the site.
    • Find samaj halwai, tent, photographer, mehndi and band in the directory.
    • Send the Shubh Vivah card to relatives on WhatsApp.
  9. Stage 9 / 9

    After the wedding

Two small things that help others.

    • Register the marriage: it is simple and protects both partners.
    • Share your story, so other families of the samaj take heart.
At every stage

  • Never share your OTP with anyone, the team never asks.
